Privacy notice

What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Short version: this website collects nothing about you itself.

Who we are

Just Another Patriot is an independent commentary channel. For anything about your data, email [email protected].

This website

We set no cookies, run no analytics and use no advertising or tracking tools. We do not ask you to sign in.

Three outside services are involved when you visit, and each sees some technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) in order to work:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and protects it from attacks. It processes request data to deliver pages. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser fetches them from Google. See Google's privacy policy.
  • YouTube plays our episodes. Episode pages embed YouTube's player in its privacy-enhanced mode, so your browser contacts YouTube when the page loads, and YouTube may set cookies once you press play. See Google's privacy policy.

Links to X, YouTube and Buy Me a Coffee take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply there.

If you email us

We keep your email address and message so we can reply, check a reported error or handle a request. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping our reporting accurate. We use them for nothing else and never sell or share them. We delete them after 12 months unless we still need them to deal with your request. The corrections log never names the person who reported an error without their permission.

Our YouTube channel and our publishing app

Comments on our videos are held by YouTube under Google's privacy policy. We read them and reply to them, and we may heart or pin a comment by hand in YouTube Studio.

We use a small app of our own, JAP Publisher, which uses YouTube API Services. It asks Google for two permissions, both on our own channel only: to upload videos (youtube.upload) and to manage the channel's videos, subtitles, thumbnails and comments (youtube.force-ssl). We use them to publish our episodes and to read and reply to comments on our own videos. Viewers never sign in to the app, and it never accesses any viewer's Google account.

What the app handles, and for how long:

  • The sign-in permission Google gives us is kept in the encrypted keychain of the computer that runs the app, and nowhere else. If that access is removed, the stored permission stops working at once, and we delete it.
  • When we reply to comments, the app reads the public comment text, the commenter's channel name and the time. A reply may be drafted with the help of an AI writing service, which receives only that public comment text and does not use it to train its models. Every reply is checked and sent by a person. Comment text is discarded once the reply is posted and is not kept in any database.
  • We do not sell, rent or transfer data from Google APIs to anyone else, and never use it for advertising.

JAP Publisher's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. By using YouTube, including through YouTube API Services, you are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google's privacy policy.

The channel owner can remove the app's access at any time in their Google Account under Third-party connections or at Google security settings. Anyone can ask us to delete any data we hold from Google APIs by emailing us.
